Although the City of Oak Hill recognizes a strong City Manager type government, the manager is ultimately responsible to the City Council. The Council sets forth policies and the city manager sees that these policies are carried out.
Damita Johnson, CPA
Ms. Johnson serves as our City Clerk/Treasurer as well as Treasurer for the Sanitary Board.
Sharon Coffman, Receptionist/Secretary
Among various other tasks, Sharon takes complaints, issues yard sale permits, bicycle license and dog license and schedules reservations for the Jackie A. Wright Community Building (Scout Cabin), and Collins Park Shelters.

Ginny's responsibilities include building permit applications, municipal license, business and occupation taxes, records for Planning and Zoning and Board of Zoning Appeals. .

David Kirk, Superintendent of the Street Department.
The department has a total of 10 employees who receive direction from Mr. Kirk. These guys maintain approximately 70 miles of city streets. This includes keeping them clean, replacing street signs, and working on drainage problems among other things. The streets are swept on a regular basis. The grass crew is responsible for keeping sidewalks along the streets, the parks and other places free of grass and weeds. All of these employees are dedicated to providing the city with well-maintained streets and parks. They do their best to help make our city a pleasant place to live and work.
Thelma Walker, Custodian
Along with her custodial duties, Thelma does the transporting of mail to and from the offices and various other duties as required.

Mark Via is Chief Operator of one of the two collection plants operated by the City of Oak Hill. The plant he operates from is the Minden plant, along with James Ellison, plant technician and the collection crew - Joe and John Lafferty. The Minden Plant handles .750 MGD.
Butch Whitmore oversees the Rt. 61 plant, with James Colaiseno as pump station technician. At this time there are 10 pump stations in this area. The Rt. 61 Plant handles .300 MGD.
Oak Hill Volunteer Fire Department

The Oak Hill Fire Department is one the most efficient and outstanding departments in the area. You can hear the sirens at all hours of the day or night.
The Fire Department is made up of 38 volunteer firefighters who are incorporated and four firemen who are paid by the City of Oak Hill. These are Fire Chief Tim Richardson, Assistant Fire Chief Robert Begley, Lieutenant Robert Brash who does the State Fair Reporting and Micah Feltner, president of the Fire Department. Mike Fox is in charge of Public Relations.
All firemen are required to fulfill 120 hours of training before being allowed to answer fire calls. These include Sections I and II of the WVU training manual with special training in Hazardous Material or Haz Mat. They have additional training in Ropes, Ladders, Water Rescue and Leadership.
Operating expenses come from the County Fire Levy and the City of Oak Hill. Oak Hill boasts 4 engines, 1 ladder truck, 3 4-wheel drive vehicles, one back up vehicle which transports rescue and dive team equipment.


Carlton Mims, Scout Cabin/City Park
Custodian
Carlton is responsible for the opening and closing of the scout cabin when it has been reserved. He also takes care of the maintenance of the cabin, along with the park. Carlton is also one the city's firefighters.
The Oak Hill Sanitary Board Office has two billing clerks - June Blake and Carol Kidd. These ladies alternate their days working in the office. They a have one part-time assistant.
Their office hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon and from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday thru Friday.
A customer drop box has been installed across the street from their office for customers convenience.
Along with the Sanitary Board Billing department we also have our wastewater treatment guys. They are there to take care of any problems that may arise and they handle the maintenance and upkeep of the two treatment plants.
